What does famous Singapore bloggers and famous Uk bloggers have in common and what are their main differences?
Let’s talk about the similarities:
i) both countries’ bloggers blog because they know the advantages of using blogs and podcasts. To get maximum exposure online to get people with internet access to also gain access to what they got to offer on their blogs.
ii) the smart bloggers always uses technorati or social bookmarking sites to help them boost their exposures.
iii) bloggers from both countries wants to make a source of income via their blogs.
Ok let’s go to the differences
a) Most Singapore bloggers blog about anything and everything, which most of the time are just current afffairs or about things happening around them. Whereas British bloggers write informative blog posts that might benefit their readers, i.e coolest gadgets, internet marketing, etc.
b) Most Singaporean bloggers actually knows nothing about html or website creation when they 1st started to blog. Most UK bloggers are computer science grads who knows some or much html and web designs when they started their blogs.
c) Most UK bloggers use their own host with their own cpanel to control their bandwidth and statistics. Whereas most Singaporean bloggers, choose to use free hosting from blogger.com, friendster.com, xanga.com, livejournal.com, etc
These are just some little observations, not to criticise or judging anyone. Just thought if Singapore bloggers know what they can do, with a little better web designs, or the advantages of hosting their own sites, maybe things will become better for them.
For instance, better web design might increase click thru rates, advertisers would be happier with the ads placements, income will go up. Better Adsense placements will increase CTRs and also better earnings per click, overall = higher income.
I think its all worth thinking about if bloggers are blogging because they want to make some good income. Do you not think so?
Just my 2 pence.
