This CNY has been great.. Busy and rushed, but great!! Great food and decor…

Some of my immediate family managed to take time out of their holiday plans and spend time with ADCA in Singapore… It’s been awhile since all of us bunked out in one house and just chilled and ate… They all stayed at our house and although, there weren’t enough beds – it was fun to all squeeze in together and sleep wherever there was space! I rather miss those days when we were younger and we all squeezed into each other’s bedrooms, or had sleeping bags laid all over the floors cos we just liked the whole ‘sleep-over’ thing!
Shame that it rained ALOT during their stay though… cos it would have been nice to take them to more places to eat good food!
My youngest sister Ansy was the last to leave Singa and she so reminded me of myself when I first came to Singapore…. She currently lives in Taiwan, and whilst she was here, she had a list of things that she needed to do.. Like have her hair cut, eat a good western meal, buy certain british stuff to bring back with her…. These things seem so trivial but when you live in a country where you don’t understand the language (and they don’t speak much english), where good old british stuff are hard to come by – I tell you, you have serious cravings… I was like that… I longed for jacket potato, a good bangers and mash dish, certain chocolates like Wispa, Fish and chips from a take-away… I still have the cravings but not so badly anymore! In a nice sort of way, I think I’m getting used to Singapore… the weather, the lifestyle, the accents, the foods… I never thought I would really… Because it was such a big culture shock to me! When we relocate back to UK, I think I will miss Singa and have those ‘cravings’ that I once had when I arrived here…

Chloe turned 2 during CNY… I look back and time has flown… I can’t believe how much she has grown…. She’s a proper madam now! And Andre, he’s also growing up so quickly…

Who knows what will happen in the future, But what I do hope is that all will be happy and stay close and in contact x
Happy Chinese New Year to all my family and friends out there!

Will update you on my return!
Its been a while since I really blog about my/our lives. Going to do a summarised version today.
i) Chloe has turned one and we are pregnant with our 2nd baby and as of today its 14 weeks + old. Daisy is having a hard time with this pregnancy, and comparing it with Chloe’s, this one is making her think twice about the 3rd baby at this moment whilst with Chloe, she really enjoyed her pregnancy.
ii) we went away to Phuket with my mum’s siblings and family, 11 of us and the trip was fun yet hectic. Eat lots of nice food, but some of us got food poisoning on the last day. DnAnC + Mama is going back to Phuket again, (thanks to Marriot Vacation Club complimentary stay) and we hope that this coming trip will be a much more chilled holiday.
iii) I noticed that they are a lot of dangerous and rude drivers around and I seriously was considering if I should buy an in-car video cam to record the rude moves that some drivers do. Sometimes I get “cut” by “F1 racers” in Toyota and Hondas doing a speedy lane change, so dangerous that if the car previously in front of me brakes we would get into a collusion, me hitting his right rear bumper. One particular driver I remember, SCP1133A, Silver Honda Civic.
iv) Have been playing a bit of badminton, and decided that will pick up this sport back and play it a bit more seriously and long term.
v) Wanted to go to visit a nursing home back due to time clash, we could not go and went to attend a relative’s wedding instead. Almost gone to a CNY dinner for grassroot leaders with GOH, PM Lee, but had food poisoning so gave it a miss.
vi) Health has not been fantastic. Currently having a back pain that goes back since a while ago. Seeing a specialist to get a diagnosis. Hopefully will not miss the ICT in May.
vii) Potentially (80%) selling the car as it is nothing but a big liability to us right now. 80% of the time its just sitting in the carpark. It is more of a luxury item than a necessity, hence it should really go. Anyone wants to buy it? Or anyone wants to buy the registration plate? SGN126P.
viii) Want to try scenario paintball one day so if someone wants to join me pls pls pls let me know. Need to travel to Malaysia though. Maybe airsoft too.
I think that is about all. Updates again later..
Finally after waiting for almost 4 months. CNY finally arrive and its time for us go for a short break.
This time round on top of the original gang, we have little Chloe to add to the list. This time round I think she has got the centre of attention though.

Thanks to Marriot Vacation Club’s irresistable offer for a preview of their timeshare package, we booked 2 apartment villas at Mai Khao Vacation Club in Phuket. It can comfortably accomodation up to 8 people in each villa so for the 11 of us, it was rather spacious.

We went to Phuket Town, Patong Beach, and went to quite a few shopping places (driver-led) went to drink bird’s nest soup and ate seafood all lunch and dinner meals.

Did jet skis, para-sailing and go karts. I think all of us had great fun. Shame we did not make full use of the facilities in the resort. Will do that in March instead with Daisy’s family.

Well… Not exactly Ibiza!!! It’s HK to be exact – with less of the rave music and disco scenes! Just seem to like that song!!! ;p
Flying this arvo and still not properly packed yet… Just gotta finalise the last bits and voila we’re ready!! This will be Chloe’s first official family holiday abroad – so I’m thoroughly looking forward to it! Gotta lot of relatives to meet so it’ll be a fun packed 6 days… Will update when I can, so until then… Au revoir, Bon Voyage!
Summary: I am now back in hot and humid, sunny, mosquito biting Singapore!! But on a good note, I m next to my Hupps, in the comfort of my luxuries!!!
I spent about 3 weeks with my mum – with my time with her split between 2 places – Singa and HK…
I’d like to think Mum had a good time in Singa!?!??! Took her to as many places as possible and ate local foods… She partic loved durian eating and managed to enjoy sugar-free mooncake!! Here are just some snap shots cos I’m far too lazy to blog about everything!!!

And here’s more pics from HK:

Utter shocked today! This afternoon Mum and I went to Jade market to visit Kobe’s mum (my sister’s MIL)….
On the way there, some of the pavements were narrow, whilst others were wide. The sun was beating down on us and the streets relatively quiet. Mum and I were just walking when this old guy walked towards us, to the right hand side of me. Suddenly his elbow raised and tried to elbow my chest!!!! Luckily I had a quick response and my instinct was to raise my right arm to deflect the action and sway to the left!!! So, instead of elbowing my chest, it was my right arm!!! I was in utter shock and didn’t manage to say anything except give this man a horrible glance! He continued to walk really quickly!
Mum asked what happened and I explained that I wasn’t too sure if it was done on purpose because at the point when it happened, the path was super duper wide! Mum freaked and was about to run after this old guy and give him a good shout!!! But, I stopped her in time.
Little did I know, mum freaked cos in her younger days, a guy did the exact same thing to her. But unfortunately for her, her response was far too slow – and she got elbowed right in her boob!!! But luckily a woman passer-by, saw the event and came to her rescue. She says that there are some slimey men, who will do anything to get some sort of fun! Gross, sick old man!
So to the girlies out there – protect that chest!!! Cos you may be targeted!!!
Before I left for HK, a relative of mine requested whether I could try and buy him an item from A Bathing Ape (aka BAPE)… Apparently, it’s really famous?!??! and the items are in demand?!?!? Certain items are all sold out in Singa and Japan…
Well, I’ve never heard of this brand at all… Maybe I’m just not “in” anymore with the trends… But nevertheless, cos I need to buy it, I thought I’d research it a bit. To my surprise, it’s a Japanese clothing company and there’s a BAPE store in London too!
Went to the Hk store and the store was really trendy!!! Forgot to take a pic though! It’s generally for the younger generation due to the brand’s unusual, unique, trendy Japanese style… Some of the Bape products include shoes, hoodies, t-shirts, jeans, and jackets.
Now I know, I’ve noticed that there’s alot of youngsters here wearing their range… To me, it’s for a young hip-hop, rapper kind of person – a more expensive and trendier range for the local UK hoodie rude boy! Not my style really, but I did see this guy who looked REALLY pwoar with its range on!
After lounging around at home until midday, mum and I ventured out in the heat with our umbrellas and bottles of water… We were off to get glasses done for other family members, as they gave us their prescription…. They trust our judgement of styles of frames…. Ummm!!!
Everyone around us, walked really fast. Whereas us, we walked REAL slow… I can’t walk too quickly these days – correction, I like to walk really slow and not rush these days!!! Got to our destination at Prince Edward and to do the glasses with transition lenses were super-duper cheap!!!
We passed my mum’s local “Cha chaan teng” – (basically a local chinese tea restaurant serving up local affordable foods. Nice… esp the “chee cheung-fun” and congee… So far canes Uk and singa!!!
Then it was off to visit Gran and have dinner with her and the aunts… I was glad to see that Gran’s health had improved after a visit to the doctors – becos before Mum came to visit me, Gran had not felt well and Mum had to take her to see Doc. When our little baby will be born, she will be a Great-Gran!!!
Happy Days!
Wow, time flies when you are really enjoying. Its has been a great 14 days… We did quite a lot of things actually. Lots of fun within the big group this time, moving out in 2 cars, walkie talkie-ing to ensure that we don’t break contact, shopping for designers clothes at crazy, crazy “whoops” prices, lots of eating eating eating (i think i put on 1-2kgs in LA, quite a few Singaporean friends noticed), lots of get together at friends’ places, chit chats and playing games…. Very eventful, I wonder when will we be able to do something like that again.
Actually not very ready to blog about all the events as yet, just want to do a brief summary to inform our readers about our updates.
i) DnA reunion after 7 long weeks of physical separation. Yes!! Lots of PDAs were displayed on that day and rest of the holidays. It was a very difficult 7 weeks for us, the longest period of separation since our wedding. Of course we are glad its over and we did learn a lot from it – We don’t want to be separated again!
ii) We reunion with a big group, 1st, Uncle Simon and Auntie Shirley (thank you Uncle Simon for the ride during the holidays) who flew in from Chicago, the last time I saw them was some 2 years ago at SnK’s wedding. Next gathering was with our hosts, Auntie Hannah, Auntie Cathy and Uncle Titus. It was the 1st time Mama see Auntie Hannah, and almost a year since she and I both saw Auntie Cathy and Uncle Titus. Next was Yee Por and Auntie Karen and Auntie Annette, and we got the chance to meet Auntie Annette’s family, Uncle Tom, Mark and Matthew as well.
iii) Met Uncle Kenny and Auntie Josephine, who hosted us by letting us stay at their lovely home and that tasty yummy cake! Its a pity we could not spend more time interacting with them, but would do so the next time we go to LA.
iv) Played Call of Duty on Xbox, thanks to Mark (fantastic gameplay and coaching)!! Played on Wii Sports and got into a tiny bowling playing against my wife and Mama, most importantly majority cheered on my opponents, leaving Uncle Tom and Kobe supporting me. Great fun even though I lost both matches!
v) Went to Universal Studios before the big fire burnt part of the studios.
vi) Went to Grand Canyon, one of the world’s Seven Wonders! One down 6 to go! Actually there are so many wonders of the world…
vii) Went to Las Vegas – possibly one of the wonders too – something so amazing created out of a desert!
viii) Went back to Fisherman Outlet for the fantastic food! Hungry now!! Anyone who goes to LA should go there, seriously!
ix) Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive (where “Pretty Woman” was filmed)
x) Crystal Cathedral, the grand ceremonial memorial sunday service. Very touching war stories, my favorites.
xi) Touch Pacific Ocean again.
xii) Almost win the jackpot! Just short of 2 “Js” to fill the screen with “Js”. Proof
Meantime take a look at our pictures at facebook.
Many many more, just not possible to list them all, or I m just too lazy to do it. Just wait for our blog posts!! At least after this Friday, when my wife is returning to Singapore!
Oh also would like to thank our hosts for their hospitality and wonderful wonderful reception. Auntie Hannah, Auntie Cathy, Auntie Josephine, Uncle Titus and Uncle Kenny (as he prefer to use just his name), thank you for everything.
Ok before this post becomes too long-winded, I better stop now. ~Take care and have fun!
