Hopefully, with no more to come may I add!!!

Been rather crazy yesterday! Started the day really well - took Chloe to Sunday School and she seemed to love it (it should have been her nap time - but she was well hyper!) Came home and fed her lunch then decided to change her nappy….

Our nappy changing station has many gaps - and our little Chloe loves to put her feet/legs and hands/arms in these gaps.. Well, she got her legs stuck and then she panicked.. the more she panicked the more stuck her legs were and she was crazily trying to get her legs out, screaming her head off whilst trying to do so…

We eventually got her legs out and there was a bruise on her LHS side ankle… her RHS foot/leg seemed ok cos when we pressed on it - there was no reaction.. However, everytime we pressed or tried to make her stand up, she would cry when her left foot/leg had any pressure on it….

After about 1-2 hours, she would still cry when she put pressure on her left foot/leg.. so we decided to take her to A&E… Low and behold - after an x-ray - it showed a small fracture on her inner LHS lower leg…. The Dr explained that it could have happened because whilst she sprained her ankle trying to get out of the gap, it could have caused the otherside to fracture - as babies bones are very fragile. Thank God that the fracture then re-positioned itself in the correct place, cos if not, there would be a painful manipulation done!

In the end, Chloe had to have a cast done but with soft crepe bandage holding it in place.. 1 week later, it’s off to the paediatric bone specialist and put a hard cast on her leg… Currently, she’s ok with the cast and is slowly getting used to the new appearance of her leg and the weight!.. Yesterday, everytime she saw her leg, she would cry!!

The only difficult thing is now trying to get her comfortable, as she can’t bend her leg, so sitting on a flat surface seems difficult for her… Also, she’s at the age where she loves to stand and crawl.. and with this heavy cast- she’s getting frustrated! We can’t get this cast wet - so with her perspiring alot - ummm…. baths/toilet issues etc are gonna be a challenge - looks like plastic bags are gonna be one of her bestest friends for awhile!….

We’re off to Phuket again in March - so that’s gonna be fun with Chloe!!

Chloe’s 1st Birthday Party

Tuesday, February 9, 2010 by Daisy in Baby, Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

Sorry for the delay in the updates of the party…. Been so busy catching up with things that I had put on hold due to the busy birthday cake planning and making, falling ill, as well as looking after Chloe full-time… But all is and went well and the party was fabadastic! Now preparing and looking forward to our CNY holiday to Phuket.. Yay….

Today, Chloe is 1 years old… How time has flown… I can still remember the whole event leading up to her birth and then her birth (a bit of a crazy time really!) Can’t really believe that baby two is on its way and I’ll be going through it again!!

However, our journey with Chloe so far, has been a blessing - and I wouldn’t want to change a thing! To be honest, time has flown by so quickly, that I can’t even remember the exact details unless I go through my blog and pictures again! She looks SOOOO different compared to when she was born! The only thing that’s similiar is the fact that her hair still won’t grow!! She’s started to stand up whilst being aided recently, she’s crawling much better now! But in general, she’s still a lazy little girl.. She’d rather sit on her bottom or whine to be carried!!

She's changed SOOOO much!

Made a birthday cake for her (not that we’re gonna be giving it to her, as we haven’t introduced egg yet!)… Still got more cakes to bake for her party on the weekend - so I’m gonna be pretty busy these next few days.. So until then…. Au revoir!

Chloe’s New Shoes…

Chloe and shoesChloe has never worn shoes, socks yes, but shoes no!… Well, she wore the fabric shoe/sock type a few times, but that’s not included because they are like socks!

Why hasn’t she worn shoes? Don’t really know why! Maybe because she couldn’t walk, hence, we never really thought about it!

All of a sudden, Mama suggested that we buy Chloe some shoes, as she was approaching her first birthday and this may encourage her to walk?!?! Well, Mama, Chloe and I went to a few shops and eventually came across some shoes… The first ones we picked were white in colour (as we thought, this would be easier to match her clothing), then we picked up a few others (mainly pink)..

Chloe was in the pram at this point and we proceeded to try the white pair of shoes….
*SCREAMS* Chloe went crazy as I tried to put the white shoes on her feet… she would kick, scream, tears came from her eyes and she wanted to run away (like the horror with the white bunny!)… But there was nowhere for her to go as she was strapped in!!!

Oh man! What happened there?! Could the white shoes have reminded her of the bunny experience?!?! Anyways, we had no luck in tying on the shoes, but we ended up buying 2 pinkish pairs so that she could ‘play’ with them at home and get used to them!

Well, so far, she has flicked them away when I put the shoes near her, she will run away from them, she will cry… She is petrified…

Today, Allan and I managed to get them on her feet - but she wouldn’t look at her feet and wouldn’t move them… She would just cry and want to be hugged! Don’t really know what’s going on - but if my girl doesn’t like shoes in the future, she’ll save so much money!! hehe
Let’s see how this shoe saga ends up!

Cupcake Making With Rolled Fondant Decorations

Monday, January 25, 2010 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Sorry for not updating in ages! Been slightly busy - so today, I will try to update you all with all the happenings!

Well, let’s start off with today… This afternoon, I went on a course and learnt how to make yummy cupcakes and how to decorate them with rolled fondant… Was really fun, but I’m telling you - I’ve so lost that artistic feel cos whilst trying to put the delicate decorations on the cupcakes, I was lost for inspiration and my hands were shaking! It’s been ages since I’ve dealt with very small stuff!!! I mean, whilst looking after Chloe - it’s all about a proper grip!!! And yip, if you’re wondering - I made it all… every single detail!!

Which one is nicer!?!?

Anyways, It’s my Chloe’s birthday soon - and the original reason why this course came up was because I wanted to make her first birthday cake! A bit adventurous really! However, still unsure about the style and type of cake!!! And whether I really have the energy or effort or time to make it! But we will see!?

What else has been happening?
-Mainly, looking after Chloe, taking her out swimming, Gymboree, shopping, socialising…
-My birthday (a quiet one this year as Huppy and I were both not feeling well!)
-Helpping out at the RC
-Lunch/dinner events with friends
-Cinema (you guys gotta see ‘Law abiding citizen’… Great film - if you’re into that sort of film!)

Merry Christmas To You…..

Friday, December 25, 2009 by Daisy in Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts, Really Nice Food

Firstly, Merry Christmas to you and your family…

Secondly, I must apologise for not updating my blog recently, since my return to the land of the heat - Singapore! Seem to have been really busy - with what exactly? Who knows!?!?? Time just flies and before you know it, the day has ended!

Anyways, today is Christmas Day and we had some relatives over… DnA cooked… Hupps - the roast chicken main dish, moi - the dessert and Christmas/Birthday cake for Allan’s second Uncle… Not really a traditional Christmas dinner though - cos Allan’s relatives aren’t that keen on western food like that!! The elder generation think that if they don’t have rice, they won’t be full!!! Ummm… Thank goodness, we only served “sort-of-Christmas lunch”! So that if they aren’t full - it can be rectified at their dinner meal!!! hehe

The menu for today:
-Roast Chicken with herbs
-Steamed veg (carrots, sweetcorn, peas)
-Mushroom gravy
-Sausages
-French fries
-Chocolate mousse-type dessert
-Chocolate sponge cake with icing and strawberries

This Christmas is a relatively quiet Christmas - maybe cos Chloe sleeps at 7pm, hence, we try not to go out too late - as it may disturb her routine? Anyways, looking forward to tomorrow - Boxing Day - cos it’s opening pressies time!!

Christmas Is Coming Soon!

Saturday, November 21, 2009 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Went to Caerphilly garden centre where there were decorations and Santa’s Grotto… Didn’t go into Santa’s Grotto but took some pics of the outside bit!! Bit stingy - cos not paying £7 when the kids don’t know what’s happening and will probably cry when Santa Claus tries to hold them and sit them on their lap to take a pic!!

Then went home to set up our Christmas deco… Loving the deco!

Festivities…

Today, went out with the kids and my family…. But before that - we came across some of Gavo’s old bling bling, so thot we’d borrow it for a bit of a photoshoot!!! So check my cutie Chloe!!!
Yo Yo!

Shopping in town, I saw this absolutely fab little wintery Christmas hut (the types you would find in a snowy place) selling doughnuts, toffee apples, fudges and other festive foods and snacks… It was really cold and it was realyl great to eat something warm… I lurve the wintery feeling - better if it was snowing! And I lurve Christmas….

Merry Christmas!
