Today is Singapore’s 46th birthday, it’s national day and 46 years of independence.
I was involved in a celebration with various people in the community and many grassroots leaders along with our prime minister. It was also at the same time that I received news about some serious rioting in various parts of UK, where the police were undermined, undermanpowered, and not well respected by the public.
At that point of time, mixed feelings ran wild inside me, especially when I was singing SG national anthem and reciting the pledge.
Here in Singapore we are celebrating our national identity and proud to be a citizen, part of the living community.
There in UK I was thinking of my family in UK, particularly London, whether they r affected by the chaotic situation.
Just hope that the situation will turn for the better.
Anyways Happy Birthday Singapore.
