What Country Is Singapore In – Have You Thought About It?

“What country is Singapore in?” Very often I hear this question… from people living overseas. Some people might also attempt to answer their own question by continuing.. “is it somewhere in China?” or “Now which part is it in Japan, east or west?” or the ultimatum “Are you very controlled by Chinese (PRC) government?”

Sometimes I feel offended that they do not know where Singapore is, and Singapore is actually an independent nation. But after awhile, I thought, perhaps we (Singaporeans) have not done enough to get noticed. So maybe we should be more proactive in promoting our country.
