Wedding Dinner

Friday, June 26, 2009 by Daisy in Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

We’ve just come home from a wedding dinner… Nice setting and decorations…

It was Chloe’s first wedding dinner – and she was generally a good girl – sleeping most of the time there, so that mummy and daddy could eat the food! Unfortunately, she cried crazily at dessert time and we had to leave early! Oh well – dessert too late in the evening is not good for the hips, so nevermind!!!

Michael Jackson The King Of Pop Dies

Friday, June 26, 2009 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Michael Jackson The King Of Pop dies at the age of 50 after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest in Los Angeles – That’s what I read this morning… What a complete shocker! I know he had a history of health issues, and 4 of his concerts last month were postponed – showing conerns to the fans, but I never expected this!

I love his songs – especially his younger days – The Jackson 5….

Michael Jackson was meant to start his ‘comeback’ concerts in the UK on 13th July – and I was hoping to goto one of his concerts… :(

Michael Jackson death is going to be a worldwide griefing affair.

RIP The King Of Pop

Lovin’ A Bit Of Bling Bling!!

Thursday, June 25, 2009 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Yesterday afternoon was “Me time”… Thanks to Huppy – he looked after Chloe whilst I had a little retail therapy, and he even cooked me a fab dinner – his steak!

Whilst doing some shopping – I came across some make-your-own mobile phone accessories and I just had to get one!!! Mine was starting to get a little tatty – so why not eh!!!

DnAnC…. Unfortunately, there weren’t any small ‘n’ letters.. but hey, nevermind! So in the future, I’ll have to re-do my mobile phone accessory to DnA ABC! (DnA = Daisy n Allan, ABC = Andre, B, Chloe) – As for B, not sure yet – Benedict for a boy, if girl not sure yet – that’s assuming we have 3 children!!!???
Lovin' a bit of bling bling!

Splash Splash!

Wednesday, June 24, 2009 by Daisy in Baby, Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

This morning, we took our baby swimming – well sort of swimming!

*Totally random, that Maggie should comment about Chloe swimming after looking at the “superwoman flying pose”!! :)

Anyways – back to the topic of swimming! Yeah, we took Chloe to this place which specialises in baby swimming… We wanted to see whether she would enjoy it and this place was more of a “controlled” environment, as opposed to having many variables (?!?!) – such as variable water temp, other kids scaring Chloe by jumping into the water, screaming etc..! – so we went for a trial…

Upon arriving there, we checked the place out and then laid Chloe on a surface. One of the ladies in this place stretched Chloe’s arms and legs – i.e. a warming up session! After this, we completely undressed Chloe (she could have worn a swimsuit – but we don’t actually have one!). But don’t worry – we had checked prior to booking! They normally recommend the child being naked – not sure why tho, cos we didn’t ask! So our baby swam au-naturale!

They put this inflatable rubber ring around her neck (Poor child was probably thinking ‘what is mum and dad doing to me now?!?!’) and put her in this bath-tub like thing, filled with warm water, balls, toys… Chloe started to tear-up as the lady tried to put her in the tub – so we had to switch hands asap – so that I put her in the tub… I put her in the tub and within seconds, she was kicking away! She loved it – or DnA seemed to think so anyways! She was twisting, turning, kicking front and back, using her hands to paddle… So cute!

Can’t wait until she’s 6 months to take her swimming, I think she’s gonna lurve it! – (I’ve read that children under 6 months shouldn’t swim in chlorine cos it’s bad for their skin)… So until then, she’ll just have to enjoy her bubble baths at home! Oh yeah – she completely zonked out after the whole event!

Why are you moving my arms and legs?!?!What are you doing to my neck?!?!Splash splashAbsolutely drained now!

This morning I decided to make dinner for Daisy, because I know she enjoys my cooking and it has been quite awhile since I last cooked for her.

I went to NTUC to buy the ingredients. Steak was my top choice as we both haven’t had beef since a long time ago and we both had this craving for beef…. After shopping for ingredients, that we brought Chloe to a swimming lesson trial. She really enjoyed it and we were both glad that we brought Chloe there. We went for lunch and quickly went home after I realised that the beef that I bought was left by the basin and not in the chiller. Whoops..

It was a simple meal and we watch a documentary about treasure hunting.. I suppose today is well spent with family..

On Edge And Chloe’s Past-times!

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 by Daisy in Baby, Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

Recently, Chloe has been able to roll onto her front… She loves it! and keeps doing so. The problem is that she can’t roll back onto her back! After awhile, she would cry to indicate to us that she wants to revert back to the original position – which is on her back… And we give her a helpping hand. This would not normally be a problem because we are there and when she sleeps, she would lie on her side…. Until…. The previous night, on the baby monitor – we could hear Chloe making some panic noises… We went into her room to find her in a “superwoman” flying pose, chest down, face down! I can only assume that she was far too tired to lift her head, or tilt her head to the side to expose her nose/mouth and subsequently had problems breathing! Oh my! Last night, the same happened – so we have been waking up to check up on her!!!

Another random thing Chloe is “in to” is trying to stuff her whole hand into her mouth or suck her fingers/thumb!! Thank goodness, she can’t put it all in yet – cos she would surely choke! Currently, she’s got a habit of putting things in her mouth and giving it a good “ice-cream type of lick”! Looks funny cos she looks like a baby dog licking away!!! Bit gross though cos the artefact, material ends up well soggy… But it’s good for her to learn textures etc – so we’re not too bothered!!

Below Chloe is trying to demonstrate the “superwoman flying poses” but with her face up (non-life-threatening in this case!) – without trying to get too tired… and how many fingers you can fit in your mouth act…!

Look @ me!

Giggles? A very rare thing… On a normal day, you hardly ever hear Chloe make baby noises, let alone giggles! Chloe only generally makes baby noises or responds to you verbally in the mornings.. The rest of the time, it’s big whopper smiles/ grins/ tongue poking… So today, whilst playing with her – I tickled her – she surprised me with 2 giggles… You could have easily missed it cos each only lasted for a split second!

I quick-time tried to tickle her more to generate more giggles – but nope, Chloe wasn’t having any of it! Maybe one day she’ll surprise us all by speaking and making lots of baby noises (apart from the crying/screaming noises) all of a sudden!

*Currently, she ain’t like her mum then! The chatty-hunter as Hupps would call me! But C’mon baby – you’re the chatty-hunter numero deux in the making!!!

Smile - *Ka-ching!*

Have you heard of people using yogurt for treating acne? Apparently yoghurt is an effective remedy for treating acne naturally. It possesses antibiotic elements that will strengthens your immune system and kills bacteria on your face.

I was told that using yogurt to treat thrush is also a homemade remedy. Has anyone tried yoghurt for acne or on babies with thrush in their mouth?
