1 Month Old…

Today, Chloe is 1 month old… And traditionally, this marks a big step for her because in ancient times, China experienced high infant mortality rates, and babies who reached the one month mark were likely to survive…!
It was as if she knew it was her 1 month b’day – she woke up smiling and there were no cries!!! I couldn’t resist and just kept snapping away on my camera! I think paparazzi mum was too much for her in the end cos she started to get a bit temperamental!!
We got her bathed and dressed and ready for dinner with the grandparents…
It must have been a special occasion cos Grandpa (my dad) offered to cook!!! We did a few traditional stuff but not entirely sure what it means!! Things like Grandma Alice giving chloe a gold pendant and chain, the cutting of the strands of hair in the front and back of her head, then putting these in red packets… Chloe receiving red packets and then ‘eating’ with us at the dinner table (Well, not literally eating! We just let her ‘taste’ the food by dipping a spoon in certain saucy dishes and then putting it on her lips!)
Nothing really major happening today – just a relaxing day… The celebration of her 1 month is this saturday – so will post more pics!
