Happy Birthday To Me! The Big Three-Oh!!!

Thursday, January 15, 2009 by in Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

Today, is my big three-oh!! Although, the figure seems large (!?!?) – Yet, I still feel so young!

Woke up rather early today – to be exact, four in the morning because for some unknown reason, I was hungry! After eating breakky, I went back to bed and woke up at 8:30am….

Met up with Jayne for a good natter and cuppa, then went to town with Mum and Sis. My Sis had surprised me by popping back to C’diff yesterday – to celebrate my birthday today. It was a fab surprise.

Today was meant to be a family thing. Normally, I would dedicate my actual b’day day for my family. The usual agenda being either dining out or cinema. Maze was also meant to return to C’diff after work….

Spent the whole afternoon in town with Sis and Mum… Towards the later stages, I was starting to feel VERY tired and suggested that we went home and got a take-away instead of dining out… I really thought I was gonna be in labour!!! I mean, I was starting to have twitches and pain in my tummy… scary stuff!!! Mum suggested that I rest and sit down whilst she and Sis carried on shopping!!! She was determined to eat out cos she said that it was my 30th and it should be special!!! To be honest, I wasn’t too bothered cos I felt tired and I didn’t want the baby to pop out!!!!

Well, we did return home for a little rest – but was meeting Maze at a chinese restaurant – so at 7:45pm, we set off for the restaurant…. We walked into the place and to my surprise my family had organised a surprise b’day party!! I see, no wonder they wanted to eat out and didn’t want me to stay at home!!! I so didn’t have a clue.. It was such a fab and great surprise!!! I was in shock!! Although some of my frens couldn’t make it to the event, but I received lots of b’day wishes via my mobile… So thanks everyone for attending my surprise party, for the fab gifts, for the b’day wishes, my family for organising the event and Maze for making the cake!…. So many thanks!!! Loved it! xxx Mwah

Since I have plenty of free time (well, not really!! I should be catching up on my CPD, my housework, reading useful stuff re: babies etc) – but today, I decided to take up a hobby that I once had (whilst watching TVB drama series!)…

Card-making… It’s nothing major, just a little hobby I used to have. I still have lots of bits and bobs – so to ease my boredom – I decided to make some cards! Ofcos, I can’t show you the cards I made today cos what if someone nicks the ideas?!?! Or what if the person sees the picture of the card – which was made intentionally for them?!?!? Exactly, all would be spoilt!

Hope the people like the cards I made for them!!! ;)

Bits & Bobs...

So Girlie Girlie!!

Now that the “date” is approaching – I’ve noticed myself getting more and more excited… Each time I think about our new arrival-to-be it puts a smile on my face….

I suppose, cos things are more settled and organised now, I have more time to appreciate the whole new arrival thing and look at the finer details…

One thing I’ve been doing recently, without realising it, is ending up looking at baby stuff – esp. cute cute baby clothes!!! I mean, before, I’d never even enter the shop nor department!!! I’m ecstatic that we’re expecting a baby girl cos I can’t wait to dress her up with these fab dresses/clothes… Also, my fav colours are pink and red and there’s so much out there!!!… I can’t wait to decorate her rooms and have some girlie girlie fun!

Today, I couldn’t resist (due to the sales) and bought a trendy little red polka dot dress with cardigan… Just can’t wait to dress our Chloe!

Cute cute!

Since Hupps left – things for me have been more quiet and at a more slower pace…

Regarding baby stuff – things are falling into place and I now know where I am – I’ve even packed my hospital bag – with only little bits to go in it!

With only 5 weeks to go, I’m getting a tad nervous, but excited! Wondering what Chloe will look like, what our life will be like… At the moment, I’m trying to take it much easier cos I don’t want to “pop” without Hupps being next to me – cos that’ll be so scary! In addition, I’m still trying to fight off this cough I’ve managed to catch.

The third trimester is much harder than the first two… My belly – although considered ‘small’ according to other people – is in my opinion, big enough and now more uncomfortable. Sleeping is a mission with pillows propped under my belly, in between my legs and behind my back… Everytime I move, so do the pillows and most of the night – you toss and turn and reposition the pillows!!! Not forgetting you need to goto the bathroom more often too now! I sleep more these days too and get lethargic more easily… And I’m finding I’m now starting to walk like a proper preggers lady – waddling to the left and right!!! Still don’t have any cravings though!!! Boring!!! No excuse to pig out and use Chloe’s name!!!

For the past 1.5 months, I’ve developed carpal tunnel syndrome due to the swelling and water retention in pregnancy… Another mission, cos both hands now, don’t have much strength and the pain is, at times unbearable. But atleast, it’s reversible – one hopes!!!

My belly has grown since I’ve been back and although Chloe kicks and moves, the movements are less forceful – probably because there’s not enough room for her now!!! But what she does love is positioning herself to the right of my belly – cos you often see a bigger ‘lump’ towards the lower right!!
