It’s Show Time!

I’m not talking about a theatre show nor a TV show – the ‘show’ I’m talking about is the mucous blood show experienced in pregnancy!!! This morning, I had a ‘show’!!!
So what is this ‘Show’?
This is a red/brown tinged thickish mucous discharge that comes out of the vagina due to the cervix dilating – (this show has a little blood mixed with the mucous). This is the plug of mucous in the cervix – which has helped to seal the womb during pregnancy.
Some women will lose their mucous plug or part of their mucous plug weeks before they go into labour. Losing your mucous plug can sometimes mean going into labour within the next several hours (Phew – thank goodness Hupps arrived home yesterday!!!), or within the next several days or within the next several weeks!!! Well, I’m only 37 weeks! So, there’s no indication really!!! Ummm….
However, losing your mucous plug is a good sign that labor is on its way!
Haven’t really done much since this morning except, do a little shopping at the local supermarket and just go through my hospital bag – to make sure things were in order!!!
Anyways, there’s no rush until I go into “real labour” with symptoms such as:
This includes:
1) Regular contractions – Haven’t had these yet (And I don’t know if I’ve had Braxton Hicks – which are false contractions)!
2) Back ache – like those experienced during your menses… I did have this last night – worse than normal!
3) Waters breaking – Nope, not had these yet!
