This evening, I met up with a few frens for dinner at a Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant called Seren, Canton. However, just as we were about to leave for the dinner date, the weather was blowing a gale and pouring it down… How typical eh! Was dreading stepping out of the door!
We’ve never been to this place, but Pri had passed it a few times – so that’s why we thought we would give it a try… Arrived – and it was nice – small and cosy but not too claustrophobic… Dim lighting but not too dark…
Food was fab and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening – eating and chatting away… I’ve missed these candle-lit dinner dates at different places… I mean, with me being in Singapore – the usual eating/meeting places are hawker centres/food courts, busy restaurants…. It’s fine – but sometimes, it’s nice to have a meal at a smallish, local, quietish but nice restaurant with perfect ambience and just chill out over wine and nice food (not that I drink!). I love trying different types of food.. and this evening was really nice… It was busy at the restaurant but not rowdy!
I’ve always wanted to find a restaurant/place that Allan and I could call “our special dining place” and go there for special occasions…. A place where we both heart the food, sit at the same table, with perfect ambience and go on a regular basis without getting bored!! A place where you’re known as a regular and where you get to know the owner and staff well… I hope to find this place, but unfortunately, we haven’t found it yet! So until then, it’s keep trying different restaurants and cuisines!!!
