Kick Me, Kick Me!

Bit of a scare earlier on…. Normally, I wouldn’t think “kick me, kick me” - but that was exactly what was going on in my mind!

On a normal day, our little Chloe would be moving constantly, kicking and proding me… Whether it be morning, afternoon or bedtime - her general habit is to constantly have some sort of movement… Or atleast, I can feel her move - when I move…. Me eating is a definite trigger for her to move!

I must admit I didn’t really notice little Chloe this evening because I was too busy playing monopoly with Hupps and frens… and I was well hyper… However, when the game finished, the frens left and the room was quiet - I noticed that I didn’t seem to be able to “feel” Chloe move!!

In our antenatal classes, we were told to start counting the number of kicks throughout the day - this should equate to approx 10… if we didn’t feel the kicks we could use our hands and gently rock/move the bump side to side… Well, I started to gently move my bump side to side… No movement from Chloe (normally this would work if she was asleep, cos the movement would make her stir/turn)…. So, I start to rock my tummy with more force! Still no movement - even Hupps was getting a little anxious!!! I then start to bounce up and down on my chair…. Still no movement!!

Oh my, oh my… Huppy then came over - used his two hands and then shook my tummy (relatively gently ofcos!) and then “Thump”!!! A good whack from Chloe… Scare over!!! :)

Today Hupps and I met up with MnA at Expo where an electronics fair was being held…. Manic, absolutely manic!!! People just everywhere!

Today, I realised that what guys want - in terms of electronics - in their homes, is completely different to those of us girlies….

Guys want computer consoles, massive 50 inch plus high definition TVs with super brill surround sound system! But for me, if I were to rank electronics - it would have to be a good washing machine with a huge drum and a high tech cooking stove/oven - not that I cook mind!!! A fab huge TV with super duper surround sound is good, but I suppose not high on my priority list!

Washing machine? But why? I love the smell and idea of clean clothes and bed sheets!! And when it’s washed and aired naturally - it’s fab!! It makes me feel all comfy and snuggly. C’mon, the idea of wearing some dirty piece of item just makes me wanna itch!!! Large drum so that I can just bung it all in and not do numerous loads!

Super high tech oven/stove - so that I can imagine myself conjuring up some amazing 6 course meal like some wanna-be Michelin chef!!! The power of the mind eh! ;)

A very Joyous Christmas and Happy New Year To You All!!!

Ho Ho Ho!

Yesterday, DnA sent out a personalised Christmas email pic thing! Save on paper, save on stamps and save the environment!!! We like a bit of that!

Some people were so impressed that I had my Christmas tree sorted by the middle of Nov and now my greetings!!! *Daze smiles whilst rubbing her nails on her top and then bringing them to her mouth to blow them!*

Well, I suppose I gotta be organised cos I literally will and have a double life! About 3 weeks to go and there’s yet so much to do and prepare….

Baby stuff here are yet to be organised - but I suppose, in a way, that can wait! At least C’mas preps are going fine here… then when I reach my other home- it’ll be busy with preparing baby stuff as well as the hustle and bustle of Cmas… So apologies to all if I overlook you!! Im sure Im forgiven - cos I’ll just blame it on the baby!! hehe

A Mobile Love Story / Ai Qing Zhan Xian

Monday, November 24, 2008 by Daisy in Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

I’m a bit of a sucker for romantic films/series…. And although last night, I was so crazily tired - I had to watch the last episodes of my latest addiction!!!

When the mainland series aired on TV late at night and only once a week, I was a bit sceptical…. Cos mainland films are generally quite “slow”! Another bad thing for me was that it was spoken in mandarin (with english subtitles), I didn’t have a clue who any of the actors/actresses were cos it’s a mainland production with actors/actresses from China/Singapore (I generally only watch TVB HK drama series). However, after the first episode, I was addicted!!! The plus points were that there were really beautiful actors/actresses! The storyline was different from your average love story and the finale was just fabulous!!! The film ended perfectly - the way it should if life was fair but you were in suspense right up until the last scene of the the last episode!! How I love endings like these!!!

Theme song
Trailer Part 1
Trailer Part 2

The summary of the film follows - But note: if you plan to watch it and don’t want me to spoil it - read no more!!!! ;)

Cast:
Wallace Huo as Yun Fei —– He’s nice!!!
Han Xue as Bei Bei —– Very pretty even though Hupps said she was typical looking!!!???
Christopher Lee as Lizhong —— One of my fave Singapore Actors
Yvonne Lim as Su Fei —— Another pretty face from Singapore
Luo Shan Shan as You Li

Story Summary:
Yun Fei (Wallace Huo) is a famous advertisement director. During his wedding, his fiancé Su Fei (Yvonne Lim) left him without saying a word (she has brain cancer and didn’t want to burden him), leaving him depressed and down in the dumps.

On the first day of the New Year, Yun Fei sends a sms to Su Fei, telling her about his thoughts and pain. Bei Bei (Han Xue) who was at the subway station picks up Su Fei’s handphone, and this starts a romance with Yun Fei - with the two of them sms-ing for a year without realising who each other are.

Bei Bei is a tour guide. In the beginning of the series, she accidentally mistakes someone as a tourist and gets to know Lizhong (Christopher Lee). The two of them get along very well, and Lizhong falls for Bei Bei. However, after Bei Bei discovers that Lizhong is a rich man’s son, she rejects him. Lizhong does not mind about the rejection and perseveres, and even consoles Bei Bei at any first chance when she is upset. This touches Bei Bei’s heart.

Because of an accident, Bei Bei realises that she loves Yun Fei. But at this moment, Bei Bei meets Su Fei. It turns out that Su Fei was stricken with cancer but did not want to burden her sister You Li (Luo Shan Shan), thus she left home. Bei Bei takes Su Fei in, but debates with herself whether to tell this to Yun Fei.

Later, You Li mistakes that Yun Fei dumped Su Fei because of her illness, and takes revenge on him. She lets Yun Fei meet Su Fei. Yun Fei knows that during that year when he was about to get married with Su Fei, she had the cancer and it couldn’t be controlled, thus Su Fei chose to leave behind the man she loves. To make it up to Su Fei, Yun Fei chooses to accompany Su Fei, neglecting Bei Bei.

Bei Bei decides to leave with Lizhong to Singapore, and when she was bidding her farewell to Yun Fei, she uses Su Fei’s phone to send a chain message sms to an unknown random number and told Yun Fei that if this sms goes back to Su Fei’s phone withing 2 years, it will prove that they have an affinity with each other and will then be reunited.

2 years later, Bei Bei returns back to China. Lizhong continues to wait patiently. Will this sms go back to Bei Bei’s handphone in the end or do Bei Bei and Lizhong get together?!! :)

Miniatures

Saturday, November 22, 2008 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

When I saw these miniatures at our local shop, I just had to buy it! C’mon, it’s nearly Christmas - any excuse eh!

One is a “baby money-plant” - well, I refer to it as a money-plant…. Cos who knows what the real names are!!??? And the other is some sort of cacti.

I must admit I’m not very green-fingered as the last large money-plant I bought in Singa faded away after a few months! But I blame the extensive heat here cos the one I have in UK is still going strong and has been repotted numerous times!!!

Well, the cacti should be strong enough to survive the temperatures here and the baby money-plant is not too exp nor big - so should be easy to maintain!! We will see…

Not sure if these two minis will flower - but hope so!!!

Christmas Is Approaching….

How it’s come by so quickly… It’s soon to be Christmas again!!! I must admit, I do love Christmas….

Today was a rather busy day… We woke up later than normal, due to a late DVD film last night. After breaky Hupps and I went to the local market to buy ingredients for lunch… Huppy wanted to cook because he was sick and tired of “outside food”… And what he cooked was really quite yummy!!

Whilst he was cooking, I was setting up the Christmas decorations and tree…

After that we went swimming at Magg’s place… The water was quite cold - but it was really relaxing to feel the weightlessness of my belly when I went in the water… When I came out of the water - oh boy, could you then feel the weight of it!!! Didn’t really swim as such - did some walking, exercises and gentle breast-strokes whilst using my float board… However, after 1 hour and 15 min, I was truely exhausted!!!

Singapore Teddy Bear Show & Singapore National Museum

Sunday, November 9, 2008 by Daisy in Daisy's Thoughts, General Blog Posts

Today DnA, Adeline, Alvin and Aunt Kat ventured out to see the Singapore Teddy Bear Show…. It’s was a small event held in The Arts House… There were a collection of very cute teddy bears but the price was too high to buy any, Some ranging in the thousands!! Nevertheless - it was nice to “window show”!

Then it was off to the Singapore National Museum and food-time… Met up with Allan’s cousins and then some friends later on in the day/evening… Relatively busy but fun day today…. Time for a well deserved rest!

26 Weeks And Counting…

I’ll be 26 weeks in the next few days… Time flies!!! I still remember the beginning stages when my menses was late and I was pregnancy testing, sometimes up to 3 times a day!!! Oh boy, was I a bit crazy in those days!… Nervous, and wouldn’t trust the test results!

So what is happening to our little Chloe? At this stage her little ears should be more receptive and sensitive to our voices…. So DnA better be careful about what we say to each other cos we don’t want her to ears-drop and copy our bad habits/language!!!?? People say you should start speaking to your unborn child - which really means speaking to your belly! I feel a bit weird when I start talking to my belly - or should I say myself! And I try to get Huppy to talk to the belly too… but there’s only so much you can talk to it!!! Instead, I like to just talk to Huppy so that little Chloe can hear us “talk” and get used to our voices! Apparently, research has shown that newborns actually can recognise familiar sounds after birth…. So we better keep it up!

Chloe should theoretically weigh about a pound and two-thirds and measure 14 inches from head to heel…

This pregnancy has been a relatively good/nice pregnancy - *Touch wood*… At least, there was no morning sickness, major complications etc… Ofcos, there’s the aches and pains that come with the pregnancy, and although at times I complain - I am extremely grateful for our little Chloe…. I’m also grateful to my Hupps, my family and frens that I have and to those whom I have become more closer to during these few months - You’ve all been supportive and loving… You’ve been fab and understanding and helpping me out….

I would have liked to have spent more time with some certain people here, throughout the pregnancy, cos I feel that we have drifted - however, it has not been possible, for whatever reason…. :(

However, I am looking forward to going home soon… After a lot of consideration and discussions with my beloved Huppy - we are going home for Christmas and I will stay there to give birth to our baby! Although, here - the medical system is superb -I can’t fault it, and I had my check-ups/scans and antenatal classes all here… I suppose, deep down I would be more comfortable in the environment that I was brought up in and used to… At least the temperature is cold, hence, the confinement period will be so much more easier!!!

I came across this fun thing too… This is what our Chloe should like, if you put DnA’s pics together!!! Hehe…

Let’s Do The Shake & Flake!!!…

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Eekkk…. Whenever I see Huppy’s back - it makes me itch!!! It’s alot better now cos most of the skin is slowly but surely flaking off… Every morning - there’s just so much dead skin all over the bedding/floor… It’s just so gross!!! *Scratch scratch scratch*

I just want to give him a good exfoliation scrub - so that his arms, face, back, shoulders is baby bottom smooth… but he says it hurts!!! Darn!!!

Well - Huppy and the boys said sunblock wasn’t needed cos it was cloudy at the Waterlodge, Indonesia… Ummm!!!

The Flake & Shake!
