A Black Chicken!

I’ve only ever eaten a black chicken once in my life… Today was the 2nd time….
Both times in singapore.
Both times made by Mama.
Both times in the form of a ginseng, red dates herbal soup.

The first time, no questions came into my mind, even though, I never knew of its existence! (Or maybe I did, but never thought much of it).
The second time, alot of questions came into my mind, even though I’ve eaten one before!

During dinner – random qns kept spilling out of my mouth…. Both my Huppy and Mama looked at me weird but still answered to the best that they could! With qns that couldn’t be answered, the result was a giggle with a shrug or ‘I don’t know’. I think at the end of the ‘machine gun’ questioning session – they were relieved! But I was just so intrigued by this black chicken!!!

“Is the meat of this black chicken really black or is it dyed with e.g soya sauce?”
“Is there any difference in a black chicken’s lifestyle compared to a white one?”
“What does a black chicken look like from the outside?”
“So would you be able to tell the difference between a black meat chicken and a white meat chicken from the outside?”

The bones of the chicken were a darkish grey colour… so this led onto more qns:
“So is the blood of the black chicken still red or black?”———————Realised what a stupid qn, once it came out of my mouth! I think the ‘black’ has got to my logic!
“How would you be able to tell if the black chicken is cooked properly (without cooking it until it was dry!) cos there’s no pink tinge!?”

Well, I thought dinner was entertaining…. Why not bring on some more interesting, colourful foods!? Don’t you just love the feeling of being intrigued?!?!? Cos I do!

A Very Black Chicken!
