Have You Got Your Visa To Ho Chi Minh? Vietnam Visa?

Lady @ airport check-in desk: Hello ma’am…. Have you got your visa to Ho Chi Minh?
Daze: Visa? What visa?….
Allan: Visa?
Lady: Yes…….

What a party-pooper!!! Oh my goodness….. It suddenly dawned to us…. that I needed a visa to enter Vietnam!!! Major blur blur!

It was 10:45am… check-in closes at 12 midday… Flight leaves 12:40pm…. Holiday is for 5 days…. There’s only one flight each day to Vietnam with the company we are flying with…. Ummm…. The lady states that it will take about 3 days to get the visa…. More umms!

Don’t really know what happened! Major blur blur!!! DnA didn’t even think about visas!!! I suppose, after getting my permanent residence here – I’ve sort of treated myself as part of the Singa clan…. what they can do, I can do… what they don’t need to do, I don’t need to do! Big mistake! They don’t need a visa to enter Vietnam…. BUT I do, with my British Passport!!! (Slight memory loss!)

Well, after some talking and info gathering – the result was the rest of the 13 people would ofcos travel! And DnA would try to get to the Vietnam Embassy in Singa, to get this visa!!! We called the Embassy and they said that they would be able to issue this visa within 30 mins. The Embassy shuts at 12 midday!

There was no way we could travel to Vietnam today.. It was 11:15am and we were still in the queue to have our tickets changed… Then rush to the Vietnam Embassy before 12 midday and then rush back…. Unless we were superwoman and superman… But we’re not!

Oh well… a bit of adventure! Got our tickets changed until tomorrow.. said quick byes to the rest of the crew…. jumped in a taxi and headed towards the Vietnam Embassy…. Arrived on time and got the visa….

Went home and chilled and celebrated out over a yummy McDs!!!

Here’s to the Visa…. At least we know for next time!

PS: Everyone who wish to visit Vietnam requires a vietnam visa except for citizens from countries are Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Japan, South Korea and Laos do not require a visa to enter Vietnam but the duration of exempt is different.
