Bob Parsons 16 Rules

I was watching TV after a day’s of work at the warehouse and it was on discovery channel, American Chopper it was called.

The show is about custom made bikes, and they were making a Godaddy bike, and the show has got some footage of the CEO of Godaddy (a very famous domain registrar), Bob Parsons. And throughout the footages of him, he seems to be a very down to earth person, so I thought, I will google him and find out more about him.

I read quite a bit on him and found some nice wisdom from him. Hence in this post, I will direct you to his 16 rules which I feel makes a lot of sense, for people who wants to achieve something in life.

Read his 16 rules here.

Holding On…

All of a sudden, I feel really uncomfortable…. But why would I and why should I have this feeling?

These past months have been a test for both Hupps and I, and Im glad we have each other. However, I can not say much about some people….

Maybe it’s my way of thinking? Maybe I treat friendship and loyalty differently? Maybe I’m being sensitive? Regardless of the questions, one thing is for sure – I feel uncomfortable! And why would I want to put myself in that position?

I accept the fact that as people grow, they will have different interests and different opinions. You can’t be expected to be in contact every day – as our lives today are so hectic! But what I do expect in friends are loyalty and to know that if I ever had a problem or were happy/unhappy – they would laugh/cry with me and support me all the way… I detest gossip, back stabbing and plain falseness….

Some friends have disappointed me… and the fact that I can’t tell them how I feel has already given me the answer…. I treasure EACH friendship, but “holding on” to some are not going to hide the fact that there is already a “crack”! Once a vase is broken and you try to glue it back together – it will never be the same…

Shame things happen the way it does as God always sends things to test us…. but at least now I know who are the ones I can really rely on….

Whenever I remember – blink 10 times!

Saturday, December 15, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Today, I had my contact lenses & eye check-up.

No major issues except after using the fluorescein orange dye, it was detected that my left lower section of my eye ball showed a dry patch. Due to wearing contact lenses the surface of the eye is less sensitive, therefore, I do not blink as much when the eye gets dry! And apparently, I only blink three quarters of the way! No wonder my left eye is irritated!!!

So the solution was to blink 10 times, whenever I can remember! It’s not the normal quick blink – it’s literally closing your eye for a few seconds each blink. If my eye gets any drier – it may prevent me from wearing contact lenses for long periods.. so the options may be glasses or eye-corrective surgery?!? Ummm

A Warm Cup Of Coffee.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Like the title states – a warm cup of coffee to start the day!

After sleeping for about 12 hours, I am rejuvenated! It’s currently 8am and it’s just about light… Getting out of my duvet/bed and sleep wear, the coldness hits you even though the heating is on full blast!

Like a hungry little bear, I head off to search for food…. Haven’t had slices of bread for ages – but at least it’s quick… Spread on the margarine…. Make myself a hot cup of nescafe… And eating breaky whilst watching the Christmas lights sparkle….

Today is gonna be a long one, I feel…. Now need to pop out with mum… So that means scraping the ice off the car windows… Wrap up warm! Everyone here is sniffling… Hope I don’t catch anything trendy!

Home Sweet Home!! But It’s FREEEEZIN’!

Wednesday, December 12, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

I am home at last (UK home that is!) However, the journey was rather a long tedious one…. Arriving at Changi airport last night – it was heaving – even at 10:30pm!

Throughout the whole day and night, and esp on the flight I was feeling a bit nauseous, with the feeling of butterflies in my tummy. I have been married to Huppy for about 5 months and I’ve been away from him for about 2 months out of the 5 already!!! We both thought it would be good for me to spend Christmas with my family in UK.. Unfortunately, both Huppy and Mama could not join me here due to work commitments but hopefully next year we will all be celebrating in UK.

Back to the flight…. I was extremely tired and exhausted, but I just couldn’t sleep… the chair was uncomfortable and I was quite close to the toilet – so I could smell this stale urine stench! I was on movie missions and when that couldn’t make me sleep, I tried suduko missions…. After a long while I nodded off only to be woken up for my breakfast…. 2 hours left until I touch down! Great! Fall asleep towards the end of the flight!

I needed to transit in Amsterdam and wait about 4 hours… *Brgh brgh* – Oh my, it’s freezing! The temperature outside was -ve and it didn’t feel that warm in the airport! Although I had a scarf and 2 thin layers of clothing – I couldn’t cope with the cold! Ended up in McDs for a large cup of hot coffee and suduko…

Touch down in my home town of Cardiff was such a fantastic feeling… The air, the cold breeze…. Home sweet home! But it was freezin’!

Arrived home and wow! Talk about festive! The house was filled with Christmas decorations.. the best part being the decorations being all mis-matched!!! But it was very homely! I must add, as we children grow older, the decorations are less congested! I still remember when Mum used to hang different coloured tinsel on the ceilings, tinsel around the door frames and so on! But it’s fab!

It’s 7:45pm now and I haven’t had much sleep….. Although tired,I’m trying to get used to the UK time zone asap…. Think I can’t hang on there…. nite nite

Just A Healthy Thought.

Recently Daisy and I discussed about quite a handful of things, and one of them happened to be health and physical well-being. As people grow more affluent, they begin to take more notice about eating healthily and going to the gym for a workout.

And I guess our new year resolution would be to become more physically active and stay healthy for the rest of our lives.

So in the future we will just do some random blogs that might talk a little bit about some interesting health facts that we found as we move along.

Hope you will enjoy the healthy blog posts!

Should I or Shouldn’t I?

Tuesday, December 4, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

I’ve always wanted it… But still haven’t got them!
I’ve asked about it… But was always told no!
I’m really scared of the process… But it takes a few seconds!
It starts off sterile…. But may end in infection!
It’s simple to initiate…. But the after-care can take ages!

What am I talking about? Having my ears pierced!

Currently, I wear clip-on earrings… (the fake thing!) Not exactly the trendiest thing on earth! However, the styles nowadays are really good and up-to-date.. And I bet you wouldn’t even notice! So why do I want my ears pierced?

Me? I want a variation of styles dangling from my earlobes… I mean, there’s only so much you can do with clip-ons before your ears get bruised due to the weight and pinching! I love long sparkly dangly ones… and I love big whopper “pretty woman” hoops!

Throughout my childhood, my Mum has always drummed into each and every one of my sisters and I that we “can not” have our ears pierced. Reason? Cos we have beautiful earlobes! You shouldn’t damage it with a pierced hole as it can change your whole fate – from beautiful/good to damaged/bad! A wives tale really! However, I have always remembered these words! It’s like “Don’t walk under a ladder… Don’t open your umbrella indoors… Don’t look in a mirror dead on midnight!” I know, we’ve all tried it and yip, nothing happens – so why not just go for it?

It’s like my frens going for a tatoo when you know your parents will freak! My wanting of ears piercing is a bit like my fren’s tatooing – but the difference is my Mum is ok with tatoos!! Not really sure why Mum is so against earrings – but I can tell you it’s a strong dislike! I never like doing things that makes my Mum unhappy… so I will have to try and convince her!

Ok, putting wives-tales and trying to convince my mum to one side…. There’s that possibility that infection will happen… I mean, I seem to be prone to infection… My skin doesn’t heal as well as the normal person and not forgetting I hate needles! Well, a “gun” has a needle thing in it!

So all these negatives against one thing – vain! Umm… is it really worth the hassle? Only time will tell!

Can you tell the difference? Real or Fake!?

Lion Hunting…

Sunday, December 2, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Today, we ventured out to the busy parts of Singapore, in search of a ferocious looking lion…

The day before we had found a few lions – but my Dad seemed to think that they were too kiddy-looking and not “adult” enough! I didn’t quite know what he meant until I bought the “correct” one – but now I can see the difference!

My Dad had originally bought an angry looking one here before – but wanted more of them in different colours etc to give as gifts… but we could find no more… All we could find was a display set….

Can you see the difference?

Ferocious adult version!Friendly child version!
