4.5 hrs of Punk’d!! I must be bored!!!???

Friday, August 31, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Tonight whilst flicking thru the tv channels I came across Punk’d!!!

I was like - what on earth is this… but that one split second of turning to that channel made a relatively quiet night with my bro turn out to be a laughing one!

It’s so funny!!! It’s an american hidden camera practical joke television series on MTV, produced and hosted by Ashton Kutcher (he’s so good looking!!!! For those who dont know who he is - he’s Demi Moore’s husband!). Its very similiar to Candid Camera or You got laughs - however, pranks are also played on celebrities. Anyways, thought Id share the highlight of my evening with you!!!

If it wasnt for the fact that I need to work 8am-8pm tomorrow - I’d still be watching it!!!

Nite nite!

“Why, thanks girls”… Oops - it was from Normy!!! He wanted to wish me well as I start my adventure in Singa! So sweet!

It is the last day that I will be working with him… I will undoubtedly miss them all there… But don’t worry, I will return!!!

So bright colours - love them!!

IDS Logistics Days

A rare treat, I went to work yesterday to prepare for the big project for today and I spoke to my dad’s previous work assistant, Fadilah (she is like my sister). And we were just talking and talking suddenly she showed me a picture.

IDS Logistics

A picture taken 9 years ago, when my dad was still a supervisor at Toh Guan IDS Logistics (eventually moved to Tuas). With him clockwise, Fadilah, Muliadi, Mohammad and Azam, all good friends of my dad. Well he treat them like his children, esp Mohammad and Fadilah.

Lots of nice memories came back, for instance, the nice nasi ayam (muslim chicken rice), nasi bryani (muslim yellow rice cooked with some herbs), mee soto (muslim chicken noodle), the 2 guys playing backgammon in the locker room, the days when I was young and dangerous, driving all sorts of heavy machines, pallet picker, fork lift, pallet platform lift, did a few silly things too… Those were the days.

Today, I was reminded that I actually know a lot of people around in IDS Logistics. I dun see why not, afterall I know some of them for more than 11 years. How time flies.

Nostalgic? I dunno, I hope I dun have to work like I did today, it is not part of my goal. Tired and got some pain behind my knee, i think i better get a hot pack on it.

Tomorrow is another working day.

Day out with Mum… Then Dancing In The Street Show…

Monday, August 27, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Today - Mum and I went girlie shopping… Didnt plan to do much except just relax! At the bay, we came across a food festival…

Look at all the stalls and events!! Wow - a merry-go-round!!!

After that, Mum and I met up with the ASDA crew to watch “Dancing in the streets - Motown!”

Some of them had very good vocals… and it was fab to see them all dance and jiggle to the tunes… esp. Mum!!!

Picture time!

Fun Day Out!

Sunday, August 26, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Today, I met Bethy for lunch at the Hemmingway.. I hadn’t seen her since the wedding and it was great to catch up and hear about the happenings… Then it was off to her house, where she and her family looked at my wedding photos…

When I arrived home, Mum looked a bit bored and tired - so I suggested going out!!! Don’t worry - when she goes out, Mum is usually more energetic! We went to Mermaid Quay at Cardiff Bay - where there were stalls and rides…. The people selling the foods, plants, goods were from other european countries like Holland, Italy, France… It was a lovely hot day and it was relaxing walking around the area…

We drove home to pick up Gav and went back out! We decided to see Bourne Ultimatum with Matt Damon - Great film… I dont really remember part one and two… but the 3rd was really exciting… I havent been like this watching a film for ages…. I wonder if Huppy have seen the first 2 parts? Well, I know he hasnt seen the 3rd part - as its not out in Singa yet!?!? Maybe we could watch the first 2 parts again?

Sharing The Same Taste Of Music!!!

Sunday, August 26, 2007 by Daisy in General Blog Posts

Today, I randomly clicked on a fren’s frens blog… If that makes sense! And it was playing a very familiar song…. “Beautiful girl - Sean Kingston“.

This song is currently EVERYWHERE in UK… And each time it plays on the radio - whether in my car, at work, at home - I sing-a-long! So so addictive and I love it! People are already getting annoyed by it - but oh no - not me!!! Enjoy!

Thinking of the music scene abroad - will have to find ways of keeping in touch with the UK charts!

Choosing to be Happy…

As time approaches to me leaving my family in UK, I cant help but feel sad… Stupid really! Its not as though I wont be returning! The truth is I never thought Id have to leave in these circumstances… And as I sit here reflecting - Im NEVER like this normally! I think back to my yesteryears and never have I let things affect me, like it does during this period… Talking to frens and family have made me realise something - this must stop! I need to be more positive!

We all want to be happy! Too often we believe that if some event happens, then we’ll be happy or at peace… We base our future happiness on things and conditions. I often say, “I’ll be happy if I win the lottery” etc. The problem is that as soon as you get what you want, you soon become disappointed, disillusioned and dissatisfied again. You probably dont even know why! Its cos you have attached conditions to your happiness…

No-one and nothing can make me happy or at peace. Happiness and peace come from inside. I am responsible for myself, I can either be happy or not - so I decide to be happy!! Easier said than done right?!?!? Well, there will always be things to test us… but thinking back - I used to let it go over my head… I want to have that back…

Singapore is a new adventure for me… I can no longer look at the road ahead and worry and be scared… I have the love and support of family and frens… Like my Hupps and I would say - “let’s seize the opportunity! Gan bate!”

I choose to be happy and will not let what other people say affect me….
