**Yummy** Swedish Glace!

Today was a normal day until I spoke to someone and found out something spectacular! Something which I thought I could never have again!!!

The lady I spoke to was lactose intolerant and we started talking about foods.
She asked me: “Have you tried the dairy-free ice cream?”
Me: “Huh?”
Lady: “Yeah it’s new!”

I was so impressed and happy - and so was the lady cos she too had only found out recently! She went to the frozen section of the supermarket and brought the whole range for me to see!!! There were only three - but hey, that’s good enough!!

I found out that the mouth-watering range comprises of rich chocolate (*Yay - which we stock*), smooth vanilla (*Another yay - cos we stock this also!!*), strawberry ripple, raspberry ripple, mocha and coffee ripple and new soft caramel. Other variants will follow, including smooth vanilla with a chocolate flavour coating on a stick (*Double yay cos we also stock this!) - fantastic for the hot summers to come!!!

So now, I too can enjoy ice-cream whilst you are eating them!!!

Now all I need is someone to make dairy-free cakes and gateaus and voila, I’ll be a happy gal!!! But hey - this new delight will keep me happy for some time! :)

A Movie Decided Last Minute

Thursday, March 29, 2007 by Allan in General Blog Posts

We went to see a film today, and its called 300. I believe it should be a big hit across all nations. Must be the blockbuster category. We went for a 8.30pm show and to our surprise, it was fully packed. I have never seen/been to a full house show ever in UK. I thought this must be a good movie.

I always like to put myself in the characters role in every movie and today i put myself in the shoes of the king. And i ask myself, will i fight or will i kneel? Will i fight for my queen? Of course i will. It is a rather good movie for me because it teaches me how to protect my empire. The very simple illustration of what to do when the wolf and the cold winter make you wanna give up. Never surrender, never give up.

I know this is odd but, i haven seen this movie, but i have seen the trailler. And upon seeing the trailler, i reckon its a very nice movie. Its called, “The Pursuit of Happyness”. Anyone has got the DVD?? hehaehaheahe… Dun buy it for my birthday though.. ’cause its still a long time to go.

Well i like the part when Will Smith said to his son (his real son acting as his son in the movie),

“Dun ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something, not even me. Alright?”
“You got a dream, you got to protect it.”
“People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you, you can’t do it.”
“You want something, go get it. Period.”

Now…. you know why i like this movie?

Andy’s Visit To UK - Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant In London

Sunday, March 11, 2007 by Allan in General Blog Posts, Really Nice Food

London BridgeAndy came over to uk this weekend and came to Cardiff tonight and stay till tommorrow. Well, it’s a little rush because he was technically not on holiday, but rather this trip was work related.

We met up at his hotel room and getting to his hotel was a task itself, because i wasn’t familar with London, and definitely not the tube system. Thank goodness i was well trained with the MRT in Singapore and finding the station where his hotel resides was easy. But guess what… from my station to the nearest station to his hotel was only 3 station away, i had to take 3 different trains to get to that hotel. Hehaheaheha.. And i told him i will be there in 15 mins, i took 25 mins instead.

London Bridge2After planning how about we going to do the tour, we made a move to London Bridge and Tower Bridge to take some pictures. We had a little stroll and talked about Singapore and friends. A rather relaxed stroll. Before we know it, it was time to move to our next destination - the reknown Fifteen Restaurant owned and managed by Jamie Oliver.

Took a train and walked a little, we arrived at the restaurant and “wow, we are there!!”. It was maybe we were too busy recently and tired from the travelling, that’s why we wasn’t too excited about it, but hey we were there!!!

fifteen restaurantWe ordered our food and chit chat a little and i was telling Andy that i thought it is much smaller than what i thought it would be. Our food arrived shortly after and my steak was really yummy, so was Andy’s rainbow trout. Well it was nice, but maybe there’s better… ehahehaehae..

After the meal, we went for a quick half an hour drinking session at a traditional pub. And there, we were discussing about beers and stuff. Never really drink alcoholic with my cousin ever… well not on a 1-2-1 basis perhaps. It was nice.

With the smell of alcohol and cigarette smoke on us, we boarded the coach to Cardiff. And we arrived 2 hours late at Cardiff because at half way, we met up with some road works and traffic was moving slow at 11pm…

barBriefly showed Andy around our place (no.12) and we showered and went to bed shortly after.

The next day he cooked us breakfast, and Daisy’s mum came to join us too. A simple home cooked breakfast, from our guest… fantastic hosts we were!! ehaehaehaeh…

We went on to show Andy around in Cardiff and the most important thing that Andy wants was to go to a castle so we went to Cardiff Castle and had a very enriching history lesson.

We later went on to visit another castle but it was shut so couldn’t get too close to it. And time flies and we had to go to the coach station to send him back to London. I just wish, that one day he can just come here for a few weeks and really do a lot of other things that we couldn’t show him during this weekend. Andy… you are always welcome to visit us!!

After A Long Hesistant Wait, We Finally Did It…

Saturday, March 10, 2007 by Allan in General Blog Posts

It took us about 2 years to decided to get this thing, and finally we made the move to get it.

It’s probably nothing major to you but this is one of our 1st step to the single entity, DnA. Yes!! We finally bought the license plate that we always wanted.. a plate that reads DnA and has a unique representation of us. So are you ready for the alphabets and number on it?
It reads “T-28-D-N-A”. And below is how it will look on one of our dream car, well more of mine maybe (a Porsche). Well a bit more about why “T-28-D-N-A”. As you all know Tan is the surname that both of us will be using for the rest of our life, Hence the “T”, 28 has been a favorite number of ours, it means “easy rich fortune” in cantonese and in my life, i see this number appearing on my legal documents and stuff, and even my birthday is 2nd August which makes it even more appropriate. Hmmm… no prize for guessing the right answer for why we have DNA at the back. DnA, DNA, dna of cos it means Daisy aNd Allan.
So there you go, the story of a new beginning.. Single entity DnA. If you did notice, that our current blog and our new blog url has got dna28 inside, so does the wedding site. There are many more of dna28 to come. Soon we promise…
