Wedding Photo Shoot
We left our home at 11am and arrived back at approx 7:45pm…. We had a superb day and we wanna thank:
Ian - the director and Huppy’s cousin
KC - photographer
Sham - makeup artist
Daniel - hair stylist
Here is a sneak preview of only one of the outfits and one of the hairstyles that was used in the photo shoot… Cant wait to see the finished article! (p.s. I was so lovin’ the whole thing that I forgot about my ankle… now its starting to hurt!!!)
What a day!!
Nightmare of a valentine’s day!!!
Well, here goes the saga!
Pre-photoshoot preparations
The picture is just a taster for you guys - an example of the outfits… for the actual professional pics, you’ll just have to wait!!!
Eating Trendy Vegetarian food…
Today, DnA, Andy and Auntie were off to Chinatown to shop for mainly wedding stuff…. red pjs, mandarin collar shirts, shoes… A very hectic, hot and busy day… However, we managed to buy what we needed…
Needles and Bling Bling!
For the past 2 days since my arrival - my skin has been “exploding” with my allergy rash and nothing seems to keep it at bay (Not even my western medicine!)…. So this morning it was a family trip (Huppy, his parents and I) to see a chinese doctor… “You’re body is heaty and damp… You must avoid all seafood, egg, milk, heaty fried foods, mushrooms, cold foods/drinks…” Ummm - so exactly what can I eat now?!?!?!? And its so typical - you’re on hols and you cant eat anything!! Well, its not that awful - cos when my skin goes bad, my diet is restricted anyway… so I’m sort of used to it.. so looks like it’s steamed food for awhile!
Then the doctor asks “I recommend acupuncture - would you be willing to try it?!” My mind went a bit blank and he had to repeat it again!!! Huppy reassured me that it didn’t hurt (as he once had it done on his head!)… If you know how wimpish I am over needles - you will understand my worries!!! Well, it had to be done… my skin was bad and I needed to try anything!!… So I had to lay down on the examination bed and he stuck needles along my leg (ankle to knee), then more down my arm (elbow to wrist).. What was the feeling like? It wasn’t pain as such… but there was this pressure each time he pierced the needle into the correct area.. You know when you hit a “funny bone” - it was like that… I lay there for over 30mins and certain areas go numb… So, has it helped? Well, the rash and the inflammatory response has gone down a bit… so we’ll have to see over these next few weeks! Would I go again? Yeah.. cos it wasn’t that bad!
Huppy and I then went shopping alone at another shopping centre, where we looked at some wedding rings….
The Suit Is Bought!!!
Today, we met up with Uncle Lloyd where he took us to buy the groom’s suit… Huppy sifted thru some styles, tried them on… Not quite what he wanted… Until… The desired suit, sitting on the hanger begged to be tried on!
The black mandarin collar suit was tried and voila - it looked good! Just needs to be altered and will be ready for collection on Mon. Now, we just need to find a mandarin collar shirt (which the tailor did not stock!)…
After the suit searching - Uncle Lloyd, Huppy and I went to Suntec NUSS to eat (this place is not open to the public and was members only) - but we had a problem - there was a dress code! Men had to wear a collar shirt - but Huppy was wearing a t-shirt!!! So they had to lend him a Hawaiian shirt!!! Chilling out and eating on the terrace, we all had a very interesting conversation where I learnt about Singapore and its history… Its was an eye opener!
Then it was off home to meet for dinner (more food!!) at 6pm. We met up with Maggie, Daniel and parents and ate at an outdoor place at Bishan… Nice location…
Life in Singa
The flight was smooth, and I slept practically all the way! I had 2 middle aged men sitting next to me (I was seated by the window) - and every time the air hostess offered drinks or food - they would wake me up! They looked after me well!! They even made sure I was getting my toilet breaks!!!
The weather here is quite hot and humid - currently 28 degrees Celsius at 6:47pm! So what have I done so far?
Yesterday, I landed at 4:45pm and my Hupps came to collect me from the airport… the weather was boiling in comparison to the cold and now snow in UK (according to mum)! We went home where I unpacked and realised I actually took over ALOT of sandals and shoes… But I forgot the most impt thing - shoes for the wedding photo shoot!!! Oops - looks as though I will need to add one more to my shoe collection when I buy it here!
Then, it was out for dinner with Huppy’s family… I had something rather simple because my skin for the past few days has been really bad… I’ve come out in this rash and the weather here simply isn’t helping at all. Annoying really - as I wanted to look my best for this photo shoot. Its always the same - its like going on some date or a party and you find this huge whopper of a spot!!!
After dinner it was out locally to see the new shopping mall and take a nice stroll and buy essentials.. then bed time….
This morning - Huppy, Auntie and I went walking in the local Bishan Park and then went for breakfast in the local Hawker centre. We did a bit of food shopping and then it was home time - to prepare for the arrival of Ian - Huppys‘ cousin.
Ian is helping with our wedding preparations for our Singapore wedding… We gathered all our photos and he’s compiling a photo CD for our wedding day… also, we will be having a wedding photo shoot sometime next week - quite excited… so cant really wait…
The next few weeks will be rather hectic.. preparing for the wedding, meeting family, seeing friends, Chinese New Year, Cruise, photo shoots…. Tell you all about it closer to the time and when it happens… Now, we’re off to catch a movie…. Babel….
Verdict: Random and there’s some sections which I havent got answers for….
